5 out of 5 stars Simply Wonderful.......2004-05-19

A great CD that's worth buying. The music is a delightful blend of jazz, rock, and hip-hop, that makes for easy and relaxing listening. With good lyrics, strong bass, jazzy horns, and a little poetry, if you haven't heard people talking about El Jefe yet, you will soon.

5 out of 5 stars El Jefe is the Boss.......2004-04-20

This band is not new; they've been around since 1999. Their latest release, Amorphous Phormula, is a great follow-up to their first self-titled release. The CD begins with the tripped-out "Intro (3 Years On The Boat)." The song uses samples, sounds and beats, which create a pleasant feel. "Elements" features smooth flows (compliments of the Wizard) and fluent beats. The guitar and bass really help develop the track into a sure-fire college radio hit. "1/2 Self, _ Expression" is very reminiscent of the Rhetoric song "Gold," yet maintains its own integrity. "Nightmare On Ceasar Chavez Road - The Club" features spoken word over a beautiful mixture of melodies and noise.
