4 out of 5 stars nothing.......2005-03-04

Another Bedhead release which conveys the following things:

1.) massive ennui
2.) despair
3.) crushing worldview

While the aforementioned things are nothing new to the modern rock cannon, few bands will ever be able to capture that sense better than Bedhead. There is nothing inventive or "new" or transcendent about these songs, technically, but these are definitely songs which stay with you. Unless, of course, you're me, in which case you left the CD in an old girlfriend's car and she stole it on you forever. Long live Bedhead.

5 out of 5 stars Another great bedhead release.......2000-01-04

Many smart reviews have said what needs repeating, that Bedhead defies categorization. Just have a listen to this small but typically perfect record and you will find yourself instantly addicted to the Kadanes' complex instrumentation and beautifully hushed lyrics. It's great to hear them doing a cover of Joy Division's "Disorder". This is one of the few band comparisons that could actually, or partially, do justice to Bedhead's haunting music. They will be truly missed.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect.......1999-12-31

Bedhead is one of the most underrated rock bands of the decade, maybe even of all time. Every single track is thoughtful, poetic and beautiful. If you haven't had a chance to experience this amazing band, you are soon to become one of the lucky few. Amazing stuff.

4 out of 5 stars "Slow Core" goes to church.......1999-12-08

I don't really remember why I picked this album up 5 years ago. I am glad that I did get it. Taking their Velvets/Galaxie 500 stylings and doing a live set in a church (a la Cowboy Junkies), Bedhead really shines. There are times even when the album really does reminds me of the Cowboy Junkies' "Trinity Sessions", but maybe it's all in my head. The music here seems to have more depth than some of their studio albums, perhaps because of the live nature of the recording. Highlights include "Disorder" and "What I'm Here For."
