If you're an ELO fan, buy it!.......2004-03-10
For those who don't know, Louis Clark's "claims to fame" are that he's the man who: (1) brought you "Hooked on Classics" in the 1980s; and (2) provided the string and choral arrangements on ELO's "classic" albums, as well as conducted the symphony with which ELO recorded those albums.
This album was written and recorded in between ELO's "Out of the Blue" and "Discovery" albums, and it shows. (One listen to this album, and you know that "Mr. Blue Sky" was as much a Louis Clark creation as it was a Jeff Lynne creation!) Listening to this album provides one with a new appreciation for just how much those albums owe to Clark.
Perhaps it's Clark, and not Jeff Lynne, whom we should all be celebrating.
Absolutely Wonderful, Beautiful, Full of LIFE!!!.......2002-07-17
There are basically two pieces of music on this album. The first piece of music entitled "Part One" is the best of the two. It lasts for 22:23 minutes. The one entitled "Part Two" goes through a lot more changes and lasts a total of 24:45 minutes. Both bring you to sad moments, energetic moments, moments rich with emotion, moments filled with rhythm. At times this album has a slight disco overtone, at other times a rock sound, a new age sound, and still at other times it's totally classical. The music flows and flows and flows. WOW. It's so well done. The music takes you to so many places. There isn't a boring moment present. The whole album ROCKS! It deserves 10 stars. It Gets 5 stars for being SO GOOD. And an extra 5 stars for blowing you away.
If you like the late seventies ELO, you have GOT TO GET THIS! You will not be disappointed unless you want to hear singing (there is no signing present in this piece of art). Similar artists are Enya, Vangelis, ELO, and early Moody Blues.
I am listening to the album as I am writing this. I've listened to this album dozens of times and I still LOVE IT. I wish there was another album like this one somewhere in the world. This album contains only TOP NOTCH TALENT. WOW!
