Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Best of the best rock band from Norway.......2005-06-16

Return was a HUGE Rock band in Norway in the 80s, and this is a good album with most of their hits(some good songs missing though IMO which is why I didnt gave it 5). It starts with the emotionall rock/ballad "Sing me a song" a song that was 1 year on the chart, and for good reasons(at that time the music on the chart was actually good, unbelivable isnt it ?). Then the very inspiring and happy song "To the top" comes as number 3. A song about not giving up in what you belive in and go for what you want, GREAT !!

Another song that for me as a "Viking" truly represent me, is the song "Loner" , to me that song tells about living a life that is not common(read married man to a wife etc). It tells about a man walking up the moutains, watching the stars and ask if this life is the best life, for me its means ALOT ! lyricially I think its the best song on the album and I bet many people from Norway feel they can relate as walking in the moutains and being in the nature is a huge part of being an Norweagian man/woman in my opinion.

Bye Bye Johnny is another good song which was written to a swedish man who was killed in the 80s, the thoughts the songwriter puts in it are exactly my thoughts regarding violence, POWERFUL !! "United in a scream" is a rebellious song to the parents ,teachers actually it reminds me of my fave groups song "Me Vale" only in english,of course musicially their are as different as night and day.

After that song the cd goes down hill and I dont really care for the songs after it but al the songs before are GREAT in their onw way except track 2. which is totally too sappy and sugar coated for my taste.

Their deep lyrics are the main reasons I like them so much, but musicially they rock too although sometimes they reminds me a little too much of Bon Jovi. Most of the time though they have a sound of their own(and are MUCH heavier then Bon Jovi)

Return is out with a new album, and it IS GREAT !! also their first album (and IMO their best album)Attitudes is a must have !!
