Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Sophisticated? I donýt think so........2002-01-17

What is compelling about this music is its lack of originality and character. The futility of these "groups" (most likely studio conceptions of middle-aged music marketeers) to cop the mod and psychedelic styles that were the rave du jour is amusing enough to make me enjoy this compilation over and over. This is fun stuff.

1 out of 5 stars Bland, verging on comatose.......2002-01-05

The tracks collected here are devoid of any distinguishing features--nay, even of a memorable melody or hook. Not only are some of the lyrics (when there are lyrics) "storybookish" -- as another reviewer noted -- but the singers often sound like children; I prefer to hear adults. This isn't funky enough to be termed "lounge" music, though it will remind you of some ersatz "music" of the '70s -- namely, Muzak.

4 out of 5 stars revisiting the 70's.......2000-06-16

not unlike Songs For The Jet Set Vol. 2, this album quickly ushers you back to the 70's. the mystic vibes from the guitar in the songs Fall and Love conjur up memories of The Jefferson Airplane, as well as the eerie Andy Gibb-like vocals. while this is no Jim James Band, it is a major breakthrough on the 3rd compilation by the Jet Set.
