5 out of 5 stars Very Pleasantly Impressed.......2000-01-03

I am a fan of progresive music and always have been. I have listened to bands such as Rush, Kansas, Yes and more recently Dream Theater, Crimson Glory, Watchtower etc. What really excites me about progressive music is when a band are able to use instrumental and vocal virtuosity and also a strong melodic and structural sensibility. Inner Resonance is such a band. On their debut release Solar Voices there are a wide range of sounds, influences and emotions. Take the song Icarus, it is in your face emotional frantic and moving all without trying to be which is my problem with most progressive bands. you can tell that most of them are really trying hard to be progressive and it just doesn't cut it for me. Inner resonance on the other hand sound like their music comes from their soul, big difference. This CD has anything from rock to pop to operatically influenced music and it all fits together impressively. Finally another band that I can like altogether and not wish they had a different singer or they sound like their songs were written by Yngwie Malmsteen 12 years ago. So buy this CD and get to say you were one of the first fans to own it before the secret gets out.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent balladeer.......1999-12-30

The lead singer of this CD is an excellent balladeer -- he has marvelous control over his top-notch vocal range, and he puts a lot of emotion into his delivery. This CD has a strong rock opera quality -- a lot of dramatic presence. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars A Modern-Day Balladeer.......1999-12-21

I think what impressed me the most about this great CD was the lead singer's incredible vocal control and range. He's a very talented balladeer, and he puts a lot of emotion into his songs. It's like he's speaking directly to the listener (except of course, he's singing!). A strong voice, a strong CD!

5 out of 5 stars I thoroughly love this CD!.......1999-12-17

I've listened to SOLAR VOICES over and over again and feel like I've entered a landscape filled with numerous layers and textures that one viewing will not satisfy.

So many songs from other CDs get worn immediately, so it was refreshing to hear something new each time through this CD. Though reminiscent of Queensryche (vocals) and Rush (instrumentals), Inner Resonance still has its own voice and power. I suggest you take a stroll through this landscape. I guarantee you'll stay a while.
