5 out of 5 stars Gimme Some Sensi.......2004-05-23

Whoever ranked this band less than 5 stars needs to check themselves for a pulse. I have seen them so many times here in AZ. Everytime I see them, they are better than any other band I've seen put on a show. Their voices are so crisp and so unique. Every cd they have put out is awesome and I listen to them all the time. I know that people always compare SS to Sublime. I love Sublime and always will, but Slightly Stoopid is better. SS always has a great show and never sound bad. When Sublime would put on a show, they never really sounded like a cd they released, but great music. And we all know that Bradley is no longer here to put on any shows, but I'd have to say SS really sounds great in a show or on record.

5 out of 5 stars Slightly Stoopid at their Best.......2004-01-29

This CD is incredible. It was originally aired/recorded in studio at KROC. Listeners liked it so much, and requested it so much, that Slightly Stoopid turned it into a CD and sold it. The music has no re-takes; it was recorded "live".

That being said, the band is phenomenal. I've seen them twice in concert and I have to say that they CREATE music each time they play. Every play is different, progressive, and builds upon itself. They play a mix of reggae, punk, with a few rap beats thrown in. They bear some semblance to Sublime (and were actually "discovered" by Sublime lead-man Brad). Sublime fans, you won't be disappointed by this band!

This CD captures some of Slightly Stoopid's best songs, in a very clear acoustic setting. The recording is sharp and highlights both the guitars and the singing duo. It represents well what Slightly Stoopid sounds like live, with the exception of some of their energetic punk and rap beats. If you can get this CD, get it.

5 out of 5 stars Genius.......2003-11-01

Acoustic Roots is one of the best records I have ever heard. It is real. the songs are great, my favorites are Prophet, Cool Down, Couldn't Get High, Souled and Wiseman. This is an album, I have had for two years and it still finds it's way back in my player all the time. I can't beleive that they recorded thios whole album in one take, that is genius.

5 out of 5 stars this album is so good I had to burn the rest of my cd's.......2003-10-29

its a little ragae. little punk. little folk. two guys with great voices and two acustic guitars. I don't care who you are or what your into. you'll love this album. <unless your a complete top 40 tool. but you guys don't like anything good anyway>

5 out of 5 stars More fun than tree full of monkeys!.......2003-05-10

With the exception of maybe Jack Johnson, and the late great Sublime, I haven't heard a band that made listening to music so much fun. Slightly Stoopid has a bit of their own thing going on with alot of background influences from other great So-Cal bands. It's a winning combo that really rocks. They have a roots rock style that is broken down to it's finest form on "Acoustic Roots". And the other albums rock as well!
