Album Description

Originally released by Birth in 1971. Organ-led progressive featuring the beautiful vocals of Lady Anna Jo Meek, later with Catapilla. The concept of the album is based on the book 'Lemmus, A Time Trilogy - Waiters On The Dance'. Fans of UK prog-rock will remember Savarin as leader & main songwriter of Julian Tretment. Original artwork. Akarma Records. 2001.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Basically a heavier and more aggressive Julian's Treatment.......2007-05-12

In 1970, author Julian Jay Savarin was heading an early prog/psych band called Julian's Treatment and released an album called A Time Before This. But the band broke up with vocalist Cathy Pruden apparently returning to her native Australia. He decided to record that followup album under his own name, with ex-Catapilla vocalist Jo Meek (sister of Anna Meek, who replaced her sister in Catapilla, and it was obviously with Anna that Catapilla recorded their two albums). The album was Waiters on the Dance, released on the Birth label. I've seen varying sources say 1969, 1971 or 1973, but 1969 is very doubtful, since the reason for Jo Meek's departure from Catapilla was to play for Julian Jay Savarin. 1971 sounds about right, although there's that possibility the album's release was delayed.
