This is a rather short CD of course, being an EP, but it really captures Linkin Park's early talent, and every one of the songs on this EP are awesome.
Now the song Bios:
Carousel -- A very dark and emotional song about drug addiction

Technique -- A very short 40+ second techno beat by the Dj, Mr.Hahn that many have compared to their song "Cure For The Itch" off of their first CD as Linkin Park, "Hybrid Theory"

Step Up -- This song features Mike Shinoda doing 99.99% of the vocals, which are all Rap, with Chester Bennington doing background Vocals

And One -- This song features Chester singing and doing his trademark screams and growling and Mike doing furious Raps.

High Voltage -- This song many have critisized as not being Linkin Park, as they have said the Chrous is corny and it dosen't show their talent. But I personally like the song as it is addictive and really shows off Mike Shinoda's lyrical talent as a rising Rap artist

Part Of Me -- This song features much the same format as "And One" with Mike Doing Furious Raps and Chester doing his Screaming/Growling. But this one is about one of Mike's real life friends, who is addicted to cutting himself.
Don't forget to Fast-Forward after the song through a few minutes of static to get to a couple of minutes of Techno music that is a early version of their song "Session" that they later complete, edit, and put on their new Album "Meteora"

Well, there you have the Bios. I personally recommend you buying this CD if you can find it for under $300 or $400 because it is extremeley rare and is a great CD to listen to.

Hybrid Theory EP.......2005-10-09

This is an essential CD for any serious Linkin Park collector. There were only a few hundred copies of this given out to the first LPU members and it contains 6 great early LP songs. If you are lucky enough to find a copy for sale you should buy it immediately as it is very rare.

Goood.......2003-07-13

If your a little bourd of HT, then get this EP cuz its got some great songs. I think u should also look up some of the other versions of these songs like Carousel DEMO and High voltage REMIX(but there is actually 2 remixes of HV, the first was not really released and the other is on Reanimation, but i think the first one was the best out of all 3 versions!).

Hybrid Dialect.......2003-06-02

This is the most amazing EP I own. It's the Hybrid Theory EP by Hybrid Theory who are now known as Linkin Park.

Carousel- A dark song with a solid meaning that introduces the fabulous vocals of emcee Mike Shinoda and "screamer" Chester Bennington.

Technique (short)- A short (very short) forty second instumental done by Mike Shinoda and DJ Joe Hahn.

Step Up- A fabulous piece sung by Mike Shinoda that puts down copycats and other posers who think that they're a true emcee or a real rock/rap band. This song isn't completely gone. You can hear samples of it mixed into KYUR4 TH ICH on Linkin Park's remix album Reanimation and It's Going Down on the X-Ecutioners' debut album Built From Scratch.

And One- My favorite track on this great work of art. It has superb guitar riffs done by Brad Delson, wonderful drum beats produced by Rob Bourden, and some of the best vocals ever done by Chester Bennington. And the song closes with a smooth and unique solo done by Mike Shinoda.

High Voltage- I can't believe it, but a LOT of Linkin Park fans absolutley hate all three versions of this song. They say that it's to hip-hop. But what can you expect from a rap/rock band?! Anyways, this wonderful song contains wonderful beats and bumps along with a supurb rap that's spat by, you guessed it, Mike Shinoda. The chorus is [bad], but the ending of this song has some of the best beats on this EP.

Part Of Me- My second favorite. The songs starts with static brewing up, followed by mild samples, a guitar riff, and drum beats. Then Mike comes in and does an angry rap followed by a heavy chorus done by Chester. And after this armfull of greatness, the song ends with a pile of static. Well, that's the last track! So long folks!

But wait... there's more! Fast foward Part Of Me through six minutes of static and you'll hear distant beats and sweeping sounds followed by a meloncholy sounding two and half minute instumental that later becomes Session on Linkin Parks sophmore album Meteora.

I give this EP a 5/5. It's a great buy and is totally worth it.
