Customer Reviews:
track 2=best weezer song ever.......2006-03-16
I love You Gave Your Love to Me Softly; I agree with the other user below about it being the best weezer song ever. all the songs on this single are awesome. YGYLTMS is so bouncy, and sweet.
Pinkerton era still good.......2005-09-25
You gave your love to me softly has great vocals on it by rivers and devotion reminds me of pinkerton all these years later. Great single- must have for any weezer fanatic. This gets 4 stars compared to other singles like island in the sun and the good life, which are better.
2 hip, energetic songs mixed with a catchy single.......2004-08-04
The single El Scorcho is a great cd, combining nice melodies while mixing in the ever-so-popular catchy lyrics and tunes. Though relatively expensive ($20+ new, $10+ used), this cd is a must have for any weezer fan. Devotion and You Gave Your Love to Me Softly are classic weezer songs, they are catchy and hip. If you have any of the other weezer singles, or cds you'd want to purchase this cd and while you're at it purchase the Good Life single, it's just as good.
Track 2 is why you should really buy this cd........2003-01-23
First things first. You Gave Your Love To Me Softly is my absolute favorite song by Weezer. It clocks in at just under 2 minutes but what a fun ride it is. It's an absolute barnstormer of a song, fast(for Weezer) and unrelenting, I'm pretty sure it's the most energetic track ever released by Weezer. Also, I think the version of the track on the Angus soundtrack is a different mix but I could be wrong.
Everyone already knows El Scorcho is a great Weezer song or else you wouln't be considering buying this single. Moving on is Track 3, Devotion. Devotion is downright comatose compared to track 2. However, after a few listens, it really grew on me, don't give up on it if you don't like it at first.
You should buy this for track 2 alone. A 3-star single without it.
