4 out of 5 stars Best Scorpions album in 20 years.......2004-07-04

I'm a big fan of the earlier Scorpions material and therefore I have been quite dissappointed with the albums of the last decade or two. None of the music was memorable, and I only listened to the albums once or twice before they got burried deep in my record and cd collection. Unbreakable is the best album they have come out in a long time. They are back to their roots in playing those catchy hard rock driven tunes that bear the Scorpions signature. In fact this new album is the most played CD in my car now. It's been a while since they had some great songs. I just give it a 4 star rating because their earlier materials from "Fly to the Rainbow" to "Tokyo Tapes" really deserves a 5 star rating. However, this is the best hard rock album I heard this summer. I hope they'll continue in this line, because this is what all the Scorpions fans want to hear.

5 out of 5 stars THEY'RE BAAAACK!!!!!.......2004-06-30

Simply put, Unbreakable is the best Scorpion album since Face The Heat in '93.

Frankly for years now I've been wondering if the Scorpions had lost it, after Pure Instinct, Eye to Eye and especially with Moment of Glory and their unplugged live album. Well not anymore!

Unbreakable takes the Scorpions back to their hard and kick ass music of the '80s where the Scorpions made their mark in the first place.

Love 'em or Leave 'em, Deep and Dark, Someday is now are just incredible hard rock songs. Accompanying the incredible see it from my eyes ballad "a second coming of No one Like You."

The bottom line, Unbreakable simply ROCKS!

4 out of 5 stars Strong comeback for the Scorpions!.......2004-06-28

I was really excited about this album, Scorpions hadnt released anything new for years and now they were gonna release a brand new, back to form album, heavier than the latter day albums. I was happy, but at the same time nervous. Too many bands have released new albums and really not succeeded. Luckily, Scorpions really hit the nail here. This is, undoubtedly their best album since Crazy World. It is as hard as their older albums, it has the "hooks and feeling" of the 80`s, and the technical marvel of their guitarplaying and experience from the 90`s. Its a perfect combination into a GREAT comeback album.

There are some really wonderful Scorpions songs here, "New Generation", "Deep and Dark", "Maybe I, Maybe you", the fantastic ballad "Through My Eyes"(Closest to Still Loving you they have ever done since), The Relaxed but nice "She Said", and the superb "Remember the Good Times". Remember the Good Times is probably the best song on the Album, together with "Through My Eyes". Its a fantastic upbeat Summer Rocker, perfect for getting that really good feeling inside. Not only that, but it has some killer solos, and a sweet "We didnt start the Fire" alike lyrics.

There are some mediocre songs here, but they will probably please other fans, and I dont skip any of the songs. Unbreakable is for me a sign of a band that can be them self, and still be number one in 2004.

Absolutely fantastic guys!

5 out of 5 stars A return to the kind of good music we had in the 80's.......2004-06-21

So much utter garbage has come out of the heavy metal music scene in recent years with the punk and grunge that one started to wonder if any of the good bands from the golden of age of rock'n roll (the 80's metal bands) would ever make a good album again. Power chords, good lyrics and good singing is what makes rock'n roll what it is. The Scorpions have done it with the album "Unbreakable". The cd has heavy riffs similar to Metallica, so it does sound contemporary, but it marries the riffs with distinctive melodies, so that you actually have real music... Sorry that no other bands of the 80's ilk have been able to release a good album of new material. Still waiting for Van Halen, Ratt, Judas Priest, and Dio. Guess it may not happen. Let's just be thankful for this one. I plan on going to the concert if they ever come to Vancouver, B.C. Canada.
