Description

The album opens up with Australian songstress Selena Cross beautifully making "Down Under" glow once again. Irelands Bernadette Moley begs "Who Can It Be Now?" with Irish pipes coloring the way. Debra Davis sings "Its A Mistake." Aussies Butterfly 9 recorded an empassioned "Overkill" and The Goldbrickers show another side of "Dr. Heckyl & Mr. Jive". The Randies rock it and go-go up "Be Good Johnny". Katrina Carlson goes "Underground" for the record as Allison Faith moodily delivers "Hard Luck Story" and Marina V walks her "High Wire". The album closes with the amazing voice of Bernie Barlow going "Down By The Sea."

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Love the New takes on these great songs........2007-02-12

At first I was skeptical about women doing Men At Work songs but after taking a listen to samples I think this is a record well worth its money. I also think Hillary for President should use this version of "Who Can It Be Now" as her theme song, makes sense to me!

5 out of 5 stars Almost better than the originals!.......2005-08-12

I am a huge fan of Men At Work ..so when i saw this cd of women covering Men at work songs i was a little weary to make the purchase, but bought it anyways. And I am so happy that i did because this album is amazing! I am tempted to say that i like some of these new versions better than the originals. The artists on the album are an eclectic mix of fine musicians and the song arrangements are pretty much true to form with slight variations. This is a great album to cruise the highway in your car to! My top pick on this one is: "Down by the sea", by: Bernie Barlow
