5 out of 5 stars Greatest Band in the World.......2003-06-10

THE KICKS are by far, my favorite band. I don't understand why songs like "Mir" aren't playing non-stop on the radio. I've seen the video on MTV2, and was an instant fan. There are too many awesome songs on this CD to choose a favorite. Scott Cook has an awesome voice, and this band is bursting with musical talent. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD. It will become your most-played CD. I promise.
Rock on.

5 out of 5 stars Hometown Fan.......2003-01-10

Ok I'm from Little Rock, the same place as the Kicks so I've been seeing them live since I was 13 (I'm 16 now, but they've been around for 8 years) and I'm very happy to see them finally getting a decent amount of attention. If anyone deserves it, they do. In addition to being a great band, they are probably the nicest guys I have ever met (though I haven't gotten a chance to met their new guitarist yet). Anyway with that said onto the album.

The Kicks sound A LOT like Weezer, true, but every band has another band somewhere in the world that sounds like them. Like Weezer they combine catchy hooks with even catchier lyrics. Spacey-theme songs ("Mir," "Rocketship (I don't think it's on this album though)," and "Satelite") and also the kind of nice love songs that don't get (or pretend to get) too emotional. So my advice for you is to go out and buy this (or any other of their) album(s). Whether you are a long-time fan or just saw the video for "Mir," the Kicks have a nice pop-indie style that
everyone can like.

Note: If you enjoy the Kicks, you also might like Ultimate Fakebook and Bowling For Soup

5 out of 5 stars Best album this year.......2002-11-11

This album takes a permanent spot in my CD changer. What an awesome album. Every song is as good as the last. "MIR" will be a classic. Guaranteed!!!
