Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Deceptive CD mostly full of alternate version of real hits.......2004-06-06

This CD, released by St. Clair Records, should simply be illegal to put in the marketplace. Amazon should not even be selling this. There are 10 songs on this album. I don't have the exact playlist in front of me but here are some of the songs: "Kiss You All Over" by Exile, "On and On" by Stephen Bishop, "Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone, "Don't Leave Me This Way" by Thelma Houston, "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes, and "Melt With You" from Modern English.

Once you start listening to the songs, you notice they sound different. If you look on the back of the CD case, you can read in the lower left hand corner in small text that the songs are "new stereo recordings unless noted otherwise". Nice place to put such information. These indeed are alternate versions of the actual hits by the same artists but are not clearly identified...only a small reference on the lower back corner of CD case. I did some poking around and these are not new by any means and it's not until you open the inside of the CD cover that you see that Modern English's "Melt With You" is actually a LIVE version!

Another strange thing about the CD are the words "One Hit Wonders" in the title. Many of the artists have had other hits, so the title of the CD title itself is misleading. The CD was just released this year and they can't even provide a playlist on Amazon or any other location it's listed on the web.
