Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Modern Clarity.......2005-05-01

This is together with Clarity one of their best albums. I think Bleed American was released to fill up the gap between Futures and Clarity because it had 3 demos and it sounded not finished.

#1 Futures - 8.5/10 Just a good begin song of the album.

#2 Just Tonight... - 8.5/10 Many people don't like this song, but this one brought me to Jimmy Eat World :)

#3 Work - 10/10 Wow!!! Some sort of softy sadness song. Most people like this song most.

#4 Kill - 10/10 I love this song because you can feel the love in Jim Adkins' voice.

#5 The World You Love - 9.0/10 It's a bit long-winded song, but all the more you it listen, all the more nicely it becomes.

#6 Pain - 10/10 Falls immediately in the taste and it stays.

#7 Drugs Or Me - 8.0/10 This song makes you cool down after 'Pain'. Very slow song, but it sounds cool.

#8 Polaris - 9.0/10 The verses are sung very gently, but when the chorus starts it is like WOOOW!!!

#9 Nothingwrong - 8.5/10 This song is made to get out of the JEW world :D

#10 Night Drive - 9.0/10 It sounds like a big kiss.

#11 23 - 10/10 My favorite! After 3 minutes you get the JEW feeling! Good guitar playing too. Warning: Don't listen this song too much, because it can take you very hard. (:D)

*12 Shame - 8.0/10 Good song, I like the guitar break.

*13 When I Want - 9.5/10 Woot! Forgot this one almost, very, very, very beautiful!!!

Overall: BUT THIS ALBUM!!! This is the only real artist with an amazing feeling.

5 out of 5 stars wow. just... wow........2005-01-27

i just recently bought this cd, and simply put, i am amazed. i'm familiar with earlier jimmy eat world music, and if you enjoy their more popular songs, you will definitely enjoy their other music. overall, they're very honest, to-the-point, and talented artists.

but now, about the album. musically, all the songs are fabulous and equal in rating. some songs are more lyrically strong than others; for example, compare the first song, "futures," with the fourth song, "kill." while they both have catchy, easy-going tunes and rhythms, "futures" has better lyrics from the start.

i think the best songs are "futures," [#1] "work," [#3] and "pain" [#6]. though "work" and "pain" are fairly mainstream, they've become popular with good reason.
