Album Description

The British Invasion had such a phenomenal impact in America that it has often been called the second coming of rock `n' roll. The British groups delved deeper into R&B than most American bands, refining a new brand of rock. Hear the Foundations, David Bowie, Donovan and others as they reinvented contemporary music.

4 out of 5 stars You can copy a dual disc, ONCE.......2006-06-10

On the audio stereo side of a dualdisc , I 've never had a problem copying a song to put it on my personal CD's. You can't copy the 5.1 or DVD video but the stereo is there for you to take. Its a great format and it seems SACD and DVD-Audio aren't catching on as one wants the Dual disc offers the best of both worlds .
This recording has been released in every format so that tells you something ?? Right ?

3 out of 5 stars A valiant attempt, but..........2005-05-26

The British Invasion of 1964 gave popular music the shot in the arm it needed at the time.It introduced us to a fresh, new sound that took the country by storm. I was there to live this phenomenon, and it still amazes me how we had overlooked these groups for so long before they made their way to America.Every track is a winner here. The big problem is in the attempt to take these songs and create surround sound where it didn't exist. "Telstar", for example, was never released in stereo. Whether or not a true, multitrack master existed is a moot point, since this track sounds like mono out of all speakers. Some of the later tracks, where there were probably multitrack masters, sound better. But it all sounds too contrived. The high resolution stereo tracks on the DVD side sound better.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this CD!.......2005-05-08

I am one of the few people that buys all of his music (instead of illegal downloading) because I want to support the artists that I like. When I buy a CD I always make a copy so I can burn a back-up, play it in my portable player, make my own mixed cd,etc. These new "Dual Discs CANNOT be copied/ripped on a computer!!!!! I have tried 4 different programs and it wont work. In my opinion it ruins the way that I want to use the music I purchased. I will NEVER again buy a dual disc. What sense does it make if you cant listen to the music the way that you want to enjoy it.

BE WARNED. BOYCOTT THE DUAL DISC!
