Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Is it really a hawkwind album?.......2003-05-17

OK, I'll admit I'm a massive, biased hawkfan of many years standing and I do pretty much rate everything officially released by the band. I do like this, but I suppose for non-hawk obsessives, its not the best intro album, it is really a brock solo effort, and has the hallmark of brock demo versions of hawkwind tracks if you compare it with one of the weird tapes (can't remember which one). Despite that you get a good precis of his classic synth sound which has been experimented with over the last couple of decades, and a few new treats if you're a bit of a fan.

In regards to the previous review, this is really not that bad of a CD. Granted you have to like Dave Brocks solo material, but this is not unlike the Church of Hawkwind CD that came out a while back. The opening tracks are off of PXR5 and The Church of Hawkwind CDs the others are new material . While not the best Hawkwind to start a collection with, for true Hawkfans,Hawklords, and Hawks in general- this may be a nice one to tuck away for a listen now and again.

1 out of 5 stars dave brock is insane!.......2002-01-12

this is definitely the worst HAWKWIND album! it's really just
a DAVE BROCK solo album. on this album, which i owned for only
one month, BROCK continues his fascination with synthesizers and
sampling. there are no real SONGS here, just little synthesizer
and keyboard doodlings. the packaging is ugly and the songwriting
credits and lyrics incomplete. a huge disappointment.
i can't recommend this!!! my main problem with
this album is that DAVE BROCK has been doing this synthesizer,
electronic, techno thing to death on the last three or four
HAWKWIND albums and I think it's time he moved on to something
else. this is getting very old and very stale. trust me, this
