Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Intelligent blackened death metal with a purpose!.......2003-12-22

I rarely feel inspired to write a review for any albums that i buy, no matter how much I enjoy them, this is different.
Wehrwolfe has a death metal sound with black metal lyrics and approach. I agree 100% with the other reviewer, you will be lacking so much if you download this one, if for anything the lyrical content provided within the album.
The lyrics are some of the best written, most intelligent, thought provoking I have ever read in a metal album, and the interview with the band in the current magazines also shows these guys have a purpose to their music, not only to kick ass and rock, but to awaken the fundamental beast that resides within us all, to reject this false heiarchy called Christianity and all that it entails, this is one of the years best metal albums yet and I look forward to their next release!

5 out of 5 stars Intense new metal sound.......2003-08-21

If you are looking for a heavy, intense, and vicious sound then listen to "Godless We Stand". With shredding guitar work, pecision drumming, intricate bass riffs, and audible vocals, the CD exemplafies the newest sound in American Metal. But this CD is not for the faint of heart. It boldly explores the notion of Christianity as a debilitating factor in society today. It is an intense debut CD and leaves me greatly looking forward to the next one.

5 out of 5 stars The best black or death metal album in years!.......2003-08-19

I've been hearing a buzz on Wehrwolfe for a while now in the underground, but I was not prepared for such an amazing debut record! Any fans of Nile, must know that current frontman, Jon used to sing for black metal legends DarkMoon. When he joined Nile, the other guys wasted no time finding an insanely evil new singer in Nathan Ellis. With the new singer came a new name, Wehrwolfe and a violent new direction. I was skeptical at first since so many bands claim they "will dominate" but when I saw them at Metal Fest & bought Godless We Stand I actually started to believe it! Some cool, old school death feel, with thrashy riffs and anti-god themes throughout. No trendy crap here, just super aggressive metal with great solos and lyrics. If you're into stuff like classic Morbid Angel, Behemoth, Infernal Magesty, Carcass or even Dimmu Borgir-support these new U.S. monsters. Never heard of Magick Records before, but if they put out more killer music like this, I think the other metal labels (who have been putting out so much hard core/nu metal junk) will have some serious competition.
