Great new music.......2004-02-29
Dutch rock pride :).......2002-12-09
Di-rect is a band where Holland should be proud of. There aren't thousands of bands who have reached this level in this early stage... All eleven tracks are rock orientated with some pop, punk and funk.
1. Just the way I do
The bands first single and very easy listening, makes you wanna scream, dance, jump, anything as long as you can dump your energy [9/10]
2. Discover
Very personal song that's related to the band's singer, Tim Akkerman. Also title track of the album. [8/10]
3. Confidence
The band recorded this song for the demo, back then it was still called 'All I have'. Again, a lot of guitars :) [7.5/10]
4. Free
Their fourth and last single of this album, starts with a piano intro and turns out to be quite a good sing-a-long song [8/10]
5. Inside My Head
The third single and a ballad... one of the songs not written by the band but a huge success and once again, a very high sing-a-long level [8.5/10]
6. Revenge
Another song also recorded for the demo, but definitly one of the best songs of the album. It seems like the song just can't decide if it wants to be a hard or a slow song and very strong lyrics [9.5/10]
7. My Generation
Very energic cover of the Who. The song is absolutely classic and they did a good cover of it. Good song to end with at a live show.[8.5/10]
8. Free Rider
Song about skateboarding, once again very easy listening and different from the other songs on the album. [8/10]
9. I Can't
Ballad-a-like, but not really... I CAN'T find something special on this song, just a sad love song. I guess this is one of the songs they should have used for a bside and not for the album [6.5/10]
10. Get Away
Good song, nothing really special as well... not a really high hit-level but it's worth listening [7/10]
11. On The Farm
Definitly the funniest song on the album, about chickens and sex. Different as the rest and there's a sort of 'samba' drum in it. [9/10]
12. Interactive Cd-Rom
The CD-Rom has quite a few exclusives like pics and short films but most of it is Dutch so it will be hard for people to understand
