Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Nice disc - with limitations.......2007-05-03

This is a nice disc, but falls a little short in comparison to the majority of SACDs that I have. First off, I noticed that it wasn't very loud, so you'll have to give it more volume than most. Also, the disc is 2-channel, and I know that really riles some people. The Avalon disc was done much better for SACD, and is in 5.1. I don't know what the story is on the rest of the material. I don't really mind a stereo SACD, especially if I find that it was an artist/producer decision to make it that way. The Peter Gabriel SACDs come to mind on that subject. I read an interview with PG about his remaster/SACD project, and he said that the decision to make the "Up" album the only 5.1 release was between him and the guy doing the DSD mastering. Sometimes though, I think the people doing the SACD project just won't commit to doing the work for a 5.1 issue. That does bug me a little.
