Album Description

Here is Eric in his true form: straight-up rock-a-blues, with a little dash of funk. Even though Eric's success with the Spin Doctors was in the early '90's, his roots date back to the masters, resulting in a style that only Eric can call his own. Add to this his legendary talent as a songwriter and you have Eric at his best - funky-bluesy and to the point.
This album, produced by Schenkman and Eddie Kramer of Jimi Hendrix fame, also shows off Eric's prowess as a lead vocalist. In the true tradition of rock 'n' roll you'll find this to be a timeless piece of music.
Earl Slick

Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing..........2003-04-27

I have always been a major Spin Doctors fan right up until Eric Schenkman left the band. Schenkman is indeed an amazing guitarist, and with the Spin Doctors he demonstrated his ability to mix rock with funk and blues and end up with quality music.
However, this album I found fairly poor. All the songs are similar, and there is no inspiration, just as if he has run out of ideas for songs. Early Spin Doctors material shows Schenkman at his best, with a great band to work with.

I can still remember the feeling when I first heard the Pocket Full Of Kryptonite album, having bought Turn it Upside Down just the week before. The energy and irresistable catchyness of the riffs are legendary, but this album is not even close.

I am very disappointed with this album, as I had long wondered what Eric Schenkman was doing since he left the Spin Doctors, and I expected better things than this from him. I recommend getting Pocket Full Of Kryptonite or Turn It Upside Down to hear the best of what Schenkman has done.

5 out of 5 stars Blues + Funk= Good Rock & Roll.......2002-05-16

After hearing some soundclips on the Slick Music website and finding out Eddie Kramer (Hendrix, Kiss, Stones, Buddy Guy) produced this album, I knew I had to pick it up! Great songs, awesome guitar playing, and singing. There is not one song on this album I don't like! If you like funky blues guitar rock, check this album out!
