5 out of 5 stars Van Pelt St. Memoirs.......2004-05-26

I was at work reminising about the old Staten Island days at the Rock Palace, when i stumbled on a web site featuring The Miracle of 86. What can I say? The album is fantastic. Emo? yeah, the way it should be. But its a lot more. Its a document of the sounds and sytle of the small Staten Island scene circa 1996. Miracle of 86 (Delusion back then) always sounded much different then the SXE hardcore or post-fugazi sounds coming from the isle, but theres something about it that still holds on to something distictly Staten Island. Its funny that at the time i first heard them they sounded very Nirvana (remember Heroin?), then suddenly they sounded very Sunny Day Real Estate (although, I probably just didn't have anything else to compare them to at that time). I remember them covering some sunny day tunes off of diary. Anyway, the point is this is a great band, always was. So buy this album. And if any of the band members are reading, how about re-releasing some of the old Delusion material on c.d.? (falter 7", and all that stuff off the old demo tapes "I feel like S**t today!"). Thanks for a refreshing blast of music that still continues to inspire me!

5 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE.......2003-04-16

They are probably the most revoloutionary sound yet, they mix a bit of todays catchy punk with an unforgetable Nirvana sound. there lyrics are incredible not like, the pop punk you hear all over the radio. And the lead has a very emortional sound that keeps you hooked. i just bought the cd the other day and i never heard of them. no matter what kind of rock music u like this will catch on.

5 out of 5 stars In the vein of Jimmy Eat World, the ataris, and mineral.......2002-04-20

There isn't much to say about this album other than it is addictive. The heartfelt, emotional vocals, though they had to grow on me at first, are refreshingly different than the high-pitched new found glory sounding vocals that seem to be most prominent in todays music. His voice reminds me of Jim Adkins of Jimmy eat world, only less polished...in a good way. That's not to say I don't love NFG, they are one of my favorite groups, but how many of the same band do we need? In a music world where it seems that everyone is trying to imitate Blink 182 or New Found Glory (i.e. simple plan), this band offers something new and throws a completely different twist to the Emo/pop punk genre. This is truly a roller coaster ride of an album ranging from slow, soft ballads, to raging anthems. This album defines what Emotional punk rock should be.
