I've got them all, and this is still one of my favorite Triffids' albums. Sure, it sounds live. But, well, it was live - and I think it gives a pretty good portrait of how good they really were.

Just a brief taste of what they were like live - a bit more fleshed out than their truly brief "Peel Sessions" recording.

I am a Triffids fan, no addict, but live they became a bit thin - even pinched. It sort of sounds like a an old LP where the band could not restrain themselves and whipped 52 minutes onto the disc with the consequent lack of sound quality.

And the CD does not save it. (If you need an example compare the LP and CD versions of Televisions' Marquee Moon. The latter is surreal. The former is pinched.)
