5 out of 5 stars So Together .......2005-10-15

I remember this album when I was in the 8th grade. I love this album. IT is very teen-pop.This album ranges from sassy Go-Go's/new wave-styled rock, thumping Europop, funky hip-hop and propulsive dance,R&B and house tracks to soaring ballads. This album should have been promoted more.

4 out of 5 stars The female equivalent of *NSYNC .......2005-09-19

Granted, when Innosense made their arrival with their debut album, "So Together" the girls were in an overcrowded pool with other girl group hopefuls such as Dream (who are rumored to be broken up) as well as Soluna, 3rd Faze, and P.Y.T. While none of their material may be smash hit single material, all the songs are sung very well, without any over the top Christina Aguilera screams and shouts to boot.

The album starts off with the Charlie's Angels like "Ride" with its interesting little raps from each of the girls from the group. Think of *NSYNC's "Here We Go" or "Bringing The Noise" and you will kind of get the idea for this song. Next is one of the girls best pop songs and their first single, "Say No More." Without a doubt, this is pop at its finest with some great beats and empowering lyrics about how they are not going to go back to some loser! GO INNOSENSE! The third song on the album is a rather interesting one. "Beep Beep" has a classic R&B kinda feel to it, which is a nice reprieval from the heavy synthesized beats we are used to with today's music. Sweet and simple. "So Together" is another song that starts off slow during the verses and kicks it up with its chorus. Song about how they wish they were with their special someone.

"This Is It" is one of the main reasons why I bought the album. It has a light rock beat to it but the infectious lyrics are what make this song a favorite of mine! Upbeat and fun! I have to admit, when I heard their next song, "Rain, Rain" I preferred the Cher version over this one. But after a while, I realized that this is SO much better than Cher's! The vocals are outstanding and the dark and moody beats make this one of Innosense's strongest tracks! Now the next song, "You Didn't Have To Hurt Me" is a ballad where the girls are finally spreading their wings and letting their vocals and irresistible harmonies sore! Unfortunately, not all good things can last forever and the girls slump with their equivalent follow up to *NSYNC's "Space Cowboy" The song is just not the best with its computer like beats and vocals.

The girls do redeem themselves and come back together stronger than ever with their tear-jerking ballad "A Hundred Oceans." Otherwise, "A Real Good Man," takes them back to a Destiny's Child like R&B type of song which is evident as to what the girls are looking for. Finally, my personal favorite! "You Can't Touch Me Now" is just too good for words in my opinion. The piano and the harmonies are simply beautiful. This is definately the type of song one needs to listen to after being hurt in a relationship. The album ends with "I Wish" which is a light beat breezy kind of slow song. After an amazing ballad like "You Can't Touch Me Now," it's glad to see it ends with that same of momentum.

Unfortunately, Innosense followed the same paths as the other hopeful girl bands and were canned after their debut album. But oh well, let's savor a good moment while we can, right?

1 out of 5 stars Pop at its most embarassing!.......2005-02-06

How this CD got such a high rating I reaaally don't know! As a music snob and a pop expert I feel it my duty to review this CD. See back in the day I bought their single...it was eh by the then standards and I never bothered to think about them again except for the occasionally reorganizing of my HUGE CD collection. Then someone on a music forum asked whatever happened to Innosense and I felt compelled to update myself on them.
So I relistened to the single 'Say no more' and even though I had previous bad impressions of Lou Pearlman I tried to be unbiased. Yep just typical soul-less manfactured Lou pop. AWFUL! Well okay the single wasnt baaad but it just wasnt anything above eh.

So in my quest to learn more about pop I finally bought the CD today at FYE for $2. My dears dont let the cute cartoons fool you: this CD isn't worth the $2 or the half hour (thats all I could stomach) of your life. RUN NOW WELL YOU CAN! GO BUY i5's CD INSTEAD! Okay you were warned here's my review.

Within the first 30 seconds of 'So together' somethings already wrong...they tried to rap. Yeah exactly. 'Ride it' is just awful and I highly suggest Miss Geri Halliwell's 2005 'same titled but not same song' single instead...trust me you'll be happier.
'Say no more' the before mentioned single is probably the best track your going to hear and that is saying QUITE a lot! Any song entitled 'Beep Beep' should make you run away and rightfully so! Just more mind numbing BAD pop AND to top it off its brain washing I swear: I almost tried to hum to it THOUGH its not a bit catchy! Subliminal messages...that Lou Pearlman is up to no good!
'So together' and 'This is it' are just obnoxious...but they have nothing on 'Rain Rain'. 'Rain Rain' pretty much takes obnoxious repetitive and boring pop to a whole new level! Think 'Beep Beep' only worse...yes its possible!
'You didn't have to hurt me' is pitiful without actually deserving pity...more like whiny and annoying.

But fellow music lovers NOTHING on this CD is as bad as the yes prepare for it: www.fan-ta-see.com. Yes thats the name of the song 'www.fan-ta-see.com'. Do I even have to point out where it goes wrong? First off its just bad. Secondly it capitalizes (as most Lou Pearlman things do) on a trend long over by that point: the internet. BAD!

'A hundred Oceans' joins 'You didnt have to hurt me' and manages to take annoying yet boring to a new level. 'A real good man' joins 'Ring ring' in being annoying, repetitive and possibly brain washing. 'You can't touch me now' takes pitiful without pity to a whole new level (Yes its as bad as 'You didnt have to hurt me'). 'I wish' joins 'Say no more' as in its not good but not as bad as the rest. Ya know just your typical bad soul-less mind numbing/controlling pop.

Overall I want my $2 back! Music fans this ISN'T WORTH YOUR TIME *UNLESS* Your trying to remind yourself 1) How pop can go SO wrong and 2) Why Lou Pearlman IS the Devil. I don't know what happened to these poor girls...I dont know who sang what but most of them really weren't above average...one in particular sounded like a clone of Britney Spears (who someone thought was supposed to be a member of this band but decided to be solo instead.) I wish the poor girls well (lord knows you sign with Lou Pearlman your $ and your soul are lost) but pity is no reason to buy this CD. Want good old undiscovered pop music? Again I suggest i5. 1) They could actually sing 2) Their songs were good 3) They weren't annoying (well minus a song or two...)

Overall please...don't hurt yourself and don't even bother with this CD!

2 out of 5 stars The American Spice Girls.......2002-12-02

Don't bother buying this CD to support this group because they are already history, victims of a fickle music industry that put out one too many clones of the Spice Girls or the Backstreet Boys and are now suffering the well deserved backlash. These girls wrote none of the music on the album. I read that Britney Spears almost joined Innosense before deciding on a solo career, perhaps the wisest decision she ever made. I want to see more girl groups playing instruments and writing more of their own tunes (like the Go-Gos or the Bangles), so I won't bother with manufactured groups like Innosense. To me, they are NONSENSE!!!
