Customer Reviews:
BUCKS FIZZ - still selling records!!! Yeah!!.......2006-01-26
Bucks Fizz should never have been compared with Abba. They stand the test of time in their own right. I hate comparisons with abba etc... Why don't people just listen to the music, vocals and lyrics?.... I was never an Abba fan ... But, have loved Bucks Fizz from Eurovision - through three number ones, numerous top twenty hits, several gold and platinum albums.... From red. yellow, red, and blue euro costumes through leather bondage gear... to late eighties shoulder pads... and to present day eighties revival - and appreciation. My musical tastes are very varied - from Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, Bob Dylan, Prince, Nanci Griffith, Kaiser Cheifs, Eddi Reader, Coldplay the list is endless.... I can never understand people just dismissing a whole collection of a groups career!!!!.... Long Live the Fizz... and 25th Anv tour in Sept - Fingers crossed x Shame that this site does not sell their complete album/cd's rather than just a Hit's Collection... tsk...tsk....
The fizz return, WOW.......2004-03-15
after a ten year plus absense from the pop charts who'd have thought Jay mike cheryl and bobby could have returned with this amazing collection of hits which hasnt aged a bit. It is simply warming listening to these songs again from the opening 'land of make believe' (which was featured on the soundtrack to the never-ending story (my favourite film of all time) to the fan-favourite My Camera Never Lies.
The music is timeless, and when compared to modern-day equivilents (steps, Westlife, the s-clubs<all brilliant bands>), you can see what an influential pop group they where in their hey-day.
buy it ... what more can i say.
Bucks Fizz has fizzed out !!.......2002-07-14
this C.D was a poor attempt of music. even worse than Proclaimers! (or was it?)
I hated all the songs on this album because it was music for killing yourself because the music was too [stupid]!!
Tell me why they ever won the eurovision song contest? they are just to happy and at the same time it's too freaky for a sane person like me, Darth Yopa the best critic in the whole internet(don't worry I write good reveiws sometimes! only if it is something I like)
A decade of UK hits.......2001-03-15
In the US, Bucks Fizz was one of the lesser known of the UK artists in the early-mid eighties. In the UK, they were HUGE. It's too bad they were never popular here, because they had some great songs.
This particular CD was a disappointment though. I would have given it a better rating had it included "When We Were Young", "You and Your Heart So Blue", "Rules of the Game" and "New Beginning". I never really cared for "Magical", "Piece of the Action" or "London Town" and with the exception of "Piece of the Action", none of these were as big of hits in the UK as the missing songs they should have included in this compilation. However, it is still a good retrospective of their music, though it sounds very dated now.
I am glad the producers of this CD did include "My Camera Never Lies", "Run for Your Life", "One of Those Nights" and "I Hear Talk" as these tracks are among the groups best.
Overall a good buy for the price.
I Wish someone would release the "Hand Cut" and "I Hear Talk" albums on CD!!!!
Great British Pop from the Early 80's.......1999-11-25
Yes, Bucks Fizz were a manufactured group but they had great songwriters/producers like Andy Hill who gave them a highly listenable catchy sound.
