Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Music for every mood.......2003-10-01

This CD is a comprehensive offering of everything SLAG. Guitar driven songs with mystic lyrics. If you like the song "Sleep is for everyone" you love the CD.

4 out of 5 stars Glad It's Back.......2003-09-30

S L & G is indeed an overlooked group from the 80s. Not the best technical musicians, but they certainly tapped the root of that pre-grunge, introspective sound that is found in those groups like The Damned, The Chameleons, and The Church. Mellow with an edge. House of Love may be of interest for some S L & G fans, too! Heck, maybe some Smiths as well. Why not?

4 out of 5 stars Good guitar pop from overlooked 80s band.......2001-12-15

Sad Lovers and Giants were a British guitar-pop band with an interesting sound that never really quite caught on in the U.S. Good, atmospheric music--great for quiet nights at home and those introspective moments when "something you can dance to" is definitely not the order of the day. This compilation is a pretty good overview and introduction to the band, though it does contain a few duds (the instrumentals). Most of their records and CDs are long out of print, so if you are curious about this band, this is pretty much your only option.

4 out of 5 stars Almost the perfect compilation that shortens their career........1998-08-25

For those who have something of them and want to explore more of the melancholic landscapes they build with their pop it's the perfect CD to get lost in the forest of SAD LOVERS & GIANTS.
