5 out of 5 stars The Maturation Of The Bee Gees!.......2003-06-28

At long last, the Brothers Gibb have crafted an album that surpasses all their earlier efforts. The sound is more basic (less synthesizer) and more mature (simplifying all their talents). The range is varied, but always maintains an upbeat, rock filled tempo. "She Keeps On Coming" and "Voice In The Wilderness" are amazing surprises of excellent R & B rock. Is this the Bee Gees? Even the ballads are mainstream upbeat, such as, "Wedding Day", "Embrace" and the oddly named, "Loose Talk, Costs Lives". Although, the title track has been chosen as the first single (in the rest of the World), any track could make it, (save for "Technicolor Dreams", which is a pleasant, but odd novelty song). Maurice even tops himself with the Beach Boys styled "Man In The Middle" and "Walking On Air". There are lots of surprises here and there is absolutely no way to try and pick which songs will be chosen for air-play. They are all that good. It doesn't hurt to go out of the way to get the extra songs on this package, such as the lovely ballad, "Just In Case" and the power song, "Promise The Earth".

5 out of 5 stars To Import or Not To Import.......2001-08-05

This is a first-rate Bee Gees' CD, full of energetic, feel-good music. Pop ballads are interspersed with some very catchy up-tempo tracks; the result is a well-crafted album that is, in my opinion, one of their best ever.

This review is specifically directed towards the two bonus tracks included on the import version. Both are gorgeous songs and well worth having, particularly if you're a fan of Robin's vocals. "Promise the Earth" offers a top-notch performance by Robin of a beautifully-crafted song. It has the strongest euro-pop beat on the album. In short, it's high energy and it's phenomenal! "Just in Case" is a lovely ballad. For those who've seen the Keppel Road video, this is the work-in-progress that was showcased there. Robin sings the verse, and Barry is the dominant voice on the chorus. The song turned out to be far more beautiful than I could've imagined.

These two tracks (together with "Embrace," "Deja Vu," "Sacred Trust" and "Wedding Day") are my favourites on a CD that is full of great songs. If you like what you hear on the sample tracks, you'll not be disappointed with this CD. Get it and you'll see why these three brothers are among the best songwriters and performers of the 20th century!

5 out of 5 stars Brothers Gibb.......2001-07-12

They have done it again! I really liked this cd! To me they are like a fine wine, they get better with age! I hope they continue to put out execellent cd's like this one! Some say the Bee Gees are a thing of the past, I think they should hear the future!

5 out of 5 stars Bee Gees in a new decade.......2001-06-06

This album is absolutely awe inspiring. Their 1981 album "living Eyes" has been my favourite for some time now, and so this album has been quite welcomed to my machine. It has simlar background harmonies, as well as a Renaissance art-like feel, just like the LE album which came right in the heart of Wew Wave and theatrics in pop. TIWICI starts of with the title track, which i thought was too sugarine to kick start this seriously well crafted album. Nevertheless By track 2 you realise the variety of this album. Track 1 would be my only criticism. It has a pop feel with commercial bluesy guitar overtones in the chorus. 2 repetitive! If they need a hit they picked the wrong song (as per usual). Track 2 on the other hand is great rock and funk, like Prince, moving the stiffest of feet, in a pumping rhythm, and pulsating bass.Rob's vocals prove to be valuable for any R&B/hip-hop artist's work in the future. "Sacred Trust" needs to be put on a hit teeny flick, with Drew Barrymore, and this will be number 1 in more countries than my dog has flees! ST is a Back Street Boys genre song. Great for some care-free romance! Ooh YEAH! Weddind Day is a more serious love ballad, crafted a la Living Eyes. I thought "Paradise" from LE was identical in its superb organic arrangement as Wedding Day. It could not have been produced to sound more real.its the BEST. It puts the whole Still Waters production to shame. Deja Vu on the other hand is a radio friendly song, and should be an automatic hit. It has some great Rock guitars and voice overdubs, and would also do well in a movie marketed for teenagers. Finally there's Walking On Air. It is Brian Wilson inspired. It creates a surreal feel from its incredibly sweet melody in the verse. Mo does the whole thing himself, even though it sounds like a big team effort (a la Brian!). You will have this song on repeat I assure you!WARNING: SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES. Pure Pop Paradise! This is one of the top 5 BG albums! Listen to it for yourself!
