Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great, great music.......2003-12-20

I stumbled upon this album (along with the rest of Sonna's work) about five months ago....and all of it is still in constant rotation! This album in particular puts me in a mood where I can just relax and escape to the music. It also works great as ambient noise (thinking music) when I'm writing or doing something else, I just have it going constantly!

The album begins with "Frone Taj", beginning with subtle guitar and then an infectious and perfect drum backing. This upbeat tempo contrasts perfectly with the second track of "Open Ended", something that I would say greatly resembles the incredible Sigur Rós. Next we are given "One Most Memorable" that also carries the same drafty power of the preceeding song. The importance of it serves as somewhat of a transformation back to the quicker and infectious drumming of the first track. Which leads to "The Right Age", which does in fact bring back the strong, but subtle rock sound. This song is longer then then "Frone Taj" and carries into a slowed down finale that leads perfectly into the most emotional track the album "Smile". Again, I make a parallel to Sigur Rós, as this band manages to use small sounds to carry such great emotion, (a little is a lot here) and that signifies a great band in my book. The album concludes with "And the World Smiles With You", a great long track that surprises with its upbeat sections and feels like a strong conclusion to an already outstanding album.

One thing you should know is that this album has no vocals, but if you're a fan of Sigur Rós this should be no problem. Anyhow the guys in this band are standup individuals. I recently emailed them at their website www.temporaryresidence.com and they thriftly replied with a very friendly email. Its nice to have such a great band with such accessibility. I hope they can have all the success in the world.

Back to this album it is probably my favorite album of 2003. I also listen to Radiohead, Dredg, Sigur Rós and Mars Volta to give you a hint at the competition.

So in closing, EVERYONE should buy this album, it is a work of art!
