Guitars at Their Finest.......2004-07-31
This two CD set of live music is unlike anything you will ever hear. The energy of the music and the richness of the sound make very song stick in your head. This is meant to play loud. If you like live guitar music played with energy to enthusiastic audiences in small venues, this is the best there is. The mix on a couple of songs could be better ... but hey, this is live!
If you want something to play with the top down on a sunny day that will get the attention of your passenger(s) CD 2 of this set is the only choice.

The Why Store is no more. This album is their legacy capturing the band's energy, Chris Shaffer's distinctive vocals and Michael David Smith's awesome guitar. Whomheads are mourning their loss but have this album to remind them of more than 10 years of Why Store magic. Catch Chris and his wife Heather with their new group, Shaffer Street. Not the Why Store but pretty close.

The best live CD from anyone in a long time. Great guitar throughout the CD. The songs "Reality" "Sleepy train" "So Sad" "When Your High" "let you in"... and many others, are just plain awsome. Been seaching for a great guitar driven CD (live or dead) for many years. This is it, I'll have this one in my pocket when they bury me!!

An awesome collection from an underappreciated band. This is the best live album I own, and I own enough. The sound is excellent and the energy jumps out of the speakers. Just when you think its loud enough, its not. For those who've not heard this band, this is a perfect introduction, capturing them at their very best. It's hard to characterize their music other than to say it's a seamless blend of roots rock melodies, psychedelic meanderings, and stunning beauty. The Why Store reminds me of the classics, Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, and so on...the good ol' days, before synthetic music from poster boys for hair products ruled the airwaves. Long live the Why Store. BUY IT TODAY.

By far the best of their five CD's. Live captures the true essence of the band. This album should have made them hit it big, it's a respectible label (MCA) unfortunately whoever selects the song track for release does not understand this band and their music, or a stronger song would have been chosen!
