Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars It's like Shudder To Think except more mellow and poppy!.......2006-11-25

This is my favourite album from Craig Wedren. I like Pony Express and 50,000 B.C. very much but it all seems to come together with this album, 'Lapland'. Clearly Wedren is more 'loved-up' on this album than any of the Shudder To Think stuff. I mean, I couldn't imagine a lyric like "Scare the piss out of the bedpans" [Pony Express] appearing anywhere on this album - He seems to have mellowed out in a very respectable way. In other words, the songs haven't suffered in not having the usual edgy Shudder To Think approach. These songs are more conventional in their structure, to the point that I'd imagine that 'Do you harm' could be a hit if it were covered by a high-profile artist. That said, the songs do require repeated listening to 'get into' them. Wedren himself has a profile and singing style that do not lend themselves easily to daytime radio airplay.
The bottom line is that this is a great album and I haven't heard ANYTHING better in about a year or two!

1 out of 5 stars uncontrollable laughter.......2006-09-18

is what this album is liable to cause. saw him open up for the wrens, wish i hadn't. hands down the worst performance i've ever seen live. the songs are pretentious and awful. his voice isn't bad, but his music requires it to be as great as jeff buckley's, which it clearly isn't. poor timing pervades all this dmreadful music, including the heavy misuse of dramatic pauses. craig, please give me back my hour.

5 out of 5 stars Lapland.......2005-11-29

Craig Wedren continues to amaze me with his incredible voice and versitility. I LOVE this album. Lapland is accessible and fun to listen to.
