4 out of 5 stars A Review of Long Since Forgotten's Album - ALL THE THINGS YOU SAID.......2007-01-08

LSF, not LFO, are the purveyors of some of the finest new music to hit my ears in quite a while. Not that my opinion matters, but I see a lot of potential in these guys. Yeah I know, thousands of people in bands have potential and talent, so what makes Long Since Forgotten so exceptional? Well, the fact that they had humble beginnings helps. No flash in the pan sensation here, these lads had to work hard, putting out their debut, IN ALL HONESTY and their follow up EP, MONDAY 12 AM, in DIY fashion. Not a stranger to the indei/emo label as well, LSF play a low-key, medium tempo rhythm that fluctuates adequately between their slow and fast numbers. Their sound could be filed under several categories. Combining elements of Sunny Day Real Estate and My Spacecoaster, Long Since Forgotten has a familiar sound with an unfamiliar phraseology. On their latest, ALL THE THINGS YOU SAID, lyrically, the band tells a story of sincerity, vulnerability, and passion. Clever writing and bright lines comprise their latest, which was picked up and put out by Rocketstar Recordings. Look for great things to come from this band who hails from the northeast. Recommended: "Some Sort of Meaning," "A Million Reasons," and "Call You Later."

2 out of 5 stars Long Since Forgotten, not worth remembering..........2005-08-21

When I heard audio clips from this cd, I thought it was going to be the greatest thing ever, so I recieved it as a birthday present last year. Then I put it on, and everything I had loved about the clips seemed to be absent. It was the same music, but for some reason I never got into it. Now after all this time I think I've figured out why.

At the end of the day, this cd suffers from three things. The first problem is a lack of originality. If you've listened to indie rock before, then you've heard this cd a hundred times already. Secondly, this cd is too poppy for me, especially the vocal presence, or lack thereof. I know that there's an audience for this brand of music, but it's just not me. Finally, the cd just feels so rushed. It almost seems like Long Since Forgotten wanted to make a cd so badly they were willing to cut corners drastically, stifle their inspirations at the most premature moments. The result is a collection of songs that seem to end long before they should, leaving you only asking "is that all?"

I haven't heard Long Since Forgotten's newer album Standing Room Only, and I don't know if I'll ever bother to, but hopefully it's a significant improvement over this recording.

5 out of 5 stars Local Band That Does Us Proud.......2003-12-15

I just saw these guys in concert (well, sorta) Saturday. They came and played my school's battle of the bands and they were just amazing. They headlined the battle, playing last after a number of other wonderful local bands. They were a great end to an awesome night. There music is just amazing lyrically and musically. The sounds blend perfectly taking you on an amazing ride... Yeah, that sounds corny. Oh, well. What I'm saying is, check these guys out, they rock. Buy their CD (I did!) and support them, promote them. They deserve it.

Cheers!
