Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars I don't get all the love.......2006-03-22

The only song I ever heard by these guys at the time was "Walk on Fire" and I really liked it. It was a highly infectious pop-rock groove. Based on that one song I kept waiting, and expecting, to hear more. So now that the music industry (and internet) is what it is I've seen these albums popping up on auction sites and finally here. The reviews are all the same: "these guys should have been huge" or "the best late '80s rock made." And now that I have these albums I can kinda see why they slipped off the charts. I'm not trying to slam the band or these albums, there is some stuff in here that certainly could have received some play...but they're not great. It's adequate late '80s pop-rock with the expected guitar hooks and riffs and all of the harmonious choruses you came to know and love in that era. But those things aren't enough if you don't find yourself being sucked into the music and acting like an idiot in your car on the way to work. All of the components are there but, overall, that magic is missing in a lot of this. Some of it is really good; some of it is more than a little cheesy (see "Heroes"). The highly infectious late '80s pop-rock that gets me to work quite often is The Outfield's "Big Innings."
