These dudes rock.......2004-09-10

These dudes do rock, though they may not be 'dudes.' And 'rocking' may not be exactly what they do. Whip, the main man behind this collabo, is as spiritual as Crowley (wise, but innocent and demonic at times) and as heartfelt as W. Oldham--and the influences of our language's greatest writers are clear: Joyce, cummings, Plath. Soft, sweet, sometimes sad--but also, sometimes, hard, cruel, and funny.

subtile yet impressive.......2004-07-29

Wow! This album made a deep impression on me. I know very little about this band, but I hope there will be a lot more coming. Vocals resemble Will Oldham in some ways, but hte music is less sober. Every song is strong and in many ways unreal. Just too beautiful to be true. Recommended to go with tis album:
1. a good bottle of red wine
2. a nice sunset
3. nothing else
