Australian Idol Moments.......2003-12-06
I personally thought the stand out tracks were Rise Up, Dirty Girl, Dance With You, Ladies, The Show Must Go On, and Always and Forever.
I'm not a big fan of slow, smoochy ballads and prefer upbeat, fast paced songs, with a few exceptions.
I would only recommend this album if you were a true die hard Aust Idol fan, otherwise bum a copy off one of your friends and don't waste your money.
Maybe I'm being a bit harsh here but unless you want to sit and listen to a bunch of Idol hopefuls singing songs that tend to wear on your nerves after the first run-through (with the exception of the above), then please avoid at all costs.
A good showcase of Australian Talent........2003-10-30
Track 2: Dirty Girl - Rob Mills. AWESOME SONG, upbeat, fun and funky 5/5
Track 3: Dance with You - Rebekah LaVauney. LOVE IT, RnB done with sytle, Rap by Levi, Excellent Song 5/5
Track 4: What a Wonderful World - Guy Sebsatian. A cover version of an old classic which Guy has put his own stamp on. Its OK 2/5
Track 5: Burn for you - Peter Ryan. A cover version of a John Farnham song. Done well. 3/5
Track 6: Ladies - Cle Wootton. Wow, another excellent track. Bit of Pop/RnB LOVE IT 5/5
Track 7: 1 thing leads to another - Paulini Curuenavuli. Nice little pop song, reminds me of something Anatascia might do. I think the song itself lets Paulini's voice down a bit though 3/5
Track 8: Wide awake & dreaming - Matt Chadwick. An inoffensive slice of pop. Its OK but could definately fall asleep listening to it 2/5
Track 9: Starting all over again - Shannon Noll. This is NOT 1 of Shannon's better moments. Like Paulini I think this song lets Shannon down. Sounds like something that has come of the UK TV show "Heartbeat". 2/5
Track 10: Always & Forever - Lauren Buckley. A really nice pop song that works well with Laurens voice. 4/5
Track 11: Closer - Levi Kereama. Rnb/Pop, Good song but doesn't stand out enough. 3/5
Track 12: The show must go on - Kelly Cavuoto. A heavier rock tinged track and its really good. Kelly has a great voice for this style of music 4/5
Track 13: You believe in me - Cosima De-Vito. Another song that I could fall asleep to. It doesn't quite cut it, something about it misses the mark and personally I find her voice quite annoying 2/5
Track 14: Movin on - Marcia Hines - A judge on Australian Idol(feat Aust Idol Girls). This is a great up tempo number that shows us all what an amazing vocalist Marcia Hines is. 4/5
