Customer Reviews:
this band deserved to make it big.......2006-08-17
This album should have been longer, but I'm rating quality of the songs, not quanity in this review. ;)
This cd has some amazing tracks on it. Among them are "All Those Rotten People", "Fallout Boy", "Allergy", and "9/11/69".
"Fallout Boy" is simply amazing. I'm not a fan of punk rock, but this is amazing none the less.
"Allergy" is a very catchy song. The chorus is a bit childish, and doesn't make sense, but it's one of those songs that rocks without *having* sense. You don't see much of those. ;)
"All Those Rotten People" was simply a rocking track. A lot of overlapping audio in it, but it only made it more interesting.
"9/11/69" was a good rock track. I didn't like it much upon first hearing it, but I appreciate it a lot now. It by far has the most serious lyrics of any of the songs, and details a father's infertility and a mother's pregnancy. Gidget Gein was raised by a step father, and the date is his birthday, so that leads me to believe it's based upon himself. ;)
"In Co. Here Ant" and "Pickled Punk/Generick Terror" show that this band wasn't produced as well as it should have been. Both tracks lack a little on quality, but they're good nonetheless.
"In Co. Here Ant" is odd, to say the least. The lyrics seem spewed completely at random, and the quality isn't perfect. It's an overall entertaining track, nonetheless.
"Pickled Punk/Generick Terror" was simply of a low quality. I would love to see this song redone in higher quality. It had more of an industrial edge to it, other than the punk/indie influences of the other tracks.
"b4 Something Happens" was the only track I didn't like. I can't say much on its behalf, other than the random screaming got very boring and was frankly annoying.
"Agadabogada" wasn't actually a track...
As for the band itself, the music behind it is entertaining and most of it is great. "All Those Rotten People" and "Fallout Boy" probably have the best playing of any of the tracks. And the vocals fit the music perfectly. Alistarr Liddell has an amazing voice that's made for punk and indie rock. I was definately amazed with the vocals.
Line up:
Alistarr Liddell - Vocals
Gidget Gein - Bass, back up vocals [All Those Rotten People], lyrics, music
Al B. Damned - Guitar, music
Bobby Rondinelli - Drums
I'm very disappointed that this was the only publicly released cd by thee DALI GAGGERS. I guess anyone can always hope they'll get back together for a reunion, if nothing else. ;)
