Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Let's be fair...this is a solid album........2006-02-24

Some people hate the fact that Phil McCormack sounds like Danny Joe Brown...probably the same ones who hate the fact that Journey's Steve Augeri sounds like Steve Perry and Skynyrd's Johnny Van Zandt sounds like Ronnie Van Zandt. C'est la vie. "Silent Reign Of Heroes" has the same balance between hard-driving rockers and power ballads found in the best of Hatchet's DJB catalog. The 8 minute title track may be another "Free Bird-slash-Green Grass & High Tides" retread, but so WHAT? The band is doing its best to create new material and they work their backsides off all over the world, bringing happiness to fans of the old songs. Don't like it? Don't listen to it...it's that simple. For everyone else, you're in for a treat.

5 out of 5 stars Great Southern Rock Album.......2005-07-16

This is the only Molly Hatchet album I own featuring the new lineup, but it is so good I am going to pick up the other ones.
Mississippi Moon Dog, Silent Reign of Heros, Just Remember, Junk Yard Dog, and Saddle Tramp are all instant classics.
I don't understand what all the fuss is about the lineup changes. It has been almost 30 years, folks. Even the Rolling Stones don't have their original lineup. Get over it. The only reason Danny Joe Brown (RIP) isn't in the band anymore is that he was too sick to be. The current lineup is every bit as good as the classic, both as musicians and as songwriters. The only difference in sound really has to do with the fact that we are now in the digital age and so bands cannot record with the "warm" sound of analog tapes anymore.

1 out of 5 stars this Hatchet needs to be replaced.......2005-05-30

Oh the mere thought of someone trying to replace Danny Joe Brown just makes my skin crawl.Hey guys ya ever thought about Joe Lyn Turner from Rainbow[JUST KIDDING}Every song is bland obnoxious noise, and I feel pity on anyone who would spend their hard earn money to see them live let alone buy their cd's.Please REPLACE the singer before you guys bury yourself so deep there's no getting out.
