Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Liquid blues.......2001-03-18

Motter's music is a blend of blues, folk, and rock. From the opening song, I was hooked. She will definitely appeal to fans of Joan Osborne, Melissa Ferrick, or Melissa Etheridge. From the bluesy rock "Pleasure and Pain" to the soulful "Imprint" to the rock-out "isitaboyisitagirl" (which is about gender dysphoria), this CD has something for all spectrums. One just knows Motter would be a powerhose live, judging by the songs on the CD.

4 out of 5 stars A girl in Texas loves this album........2000-03-01

I'm not from Atlanta, but I have heard of a phenomenon named Angela Motter by word of mouth for some time and finally decided to get the album Pleasure and Pain. I found it to be all everyone said and more. Incredible! It has moved me like no other. Guess what's been in my car stereo for the last three months!

5 out of 5 stars Angela Motter .....A definite Pleasure.......1999-10-05

Pleasure and Pain takes you on a soulful blues journey, yet rocks you at the same time. And being able to see Angela live is a definite pleasure. She's able to bring you into her world of storytelling and real life experience. You walk away with more of an appreciation for great talent. I would highly recommend this cd to anyone who loves great music.

5 out of 5 stars A real world adventure on disc..........1999-09-14

I've been fortunate enough to see Angela play many times over the years. I always leave her live performances feeling like there is some good in the world. After listening to her CD I feel like there is something GREAT in the world. Angela manages to take you on a real journey, to places you may not have gone by yourself. Her album is a combination of old and new school. Old school: It's an album that tells a story and you have to listen to the whole thing to get the moral of that story. Stellar lyrical content. New school: totally phunky (yes with a "ph"), very cool loops and samples--definitely NOT your mama's pholk music. See her. Buy this. Be a better person for it.
