Early Day Miners.......2006-02-09
The Early Day Miners do sound distinctively like Low, but their album still is, to me, one of those albums you have to be in the right mood for in order to be able to enjoy it. Extremely mellow, with an eerie haunting sound to it.

Ever experienced one of those days? The sky is grey. Its pissing heavily. The bus has broken down and you have to walk it home, being splashed by every second car. Earlier on you had a crap day at work. You feel that you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Anyways, after you trudge home you really need some suitable music.
Look no further, for The early Day Miners fourth album `All Harm Ends Here' does the job perfectly.
The Early Day Miners sound borrows from Echo and the Bunnymen, The Church and The Cure i.e. dark brooding rock that for some strange reason is uplifting and warm-sounding. Although the lyrics deal with loss of love, the arpeggios make one feel that things will be for the better. In fact the title `All Harm Ends Here' is assuring you that the hurt will stop.
Yes the majority of the songs are long and need time to develop, but be patient for there are great rewards in store as the album's beauty just unfolds and envelopes you in dizzy wonder. My personal favourite track is `All Harm', a very intense rocker that is brittle and has a naggingly circular riff that increases and decreases as the song progresses.
Oh yeah I forgot to continue my story. So you play EDM and suddenly all your problems slip away and the sun shines brightly through the clouds and the world looks better. That is `The Early Day Miners' experience!
Wow! What a beauty........2005-04-12
Beautiful album that reminds me a bit of the best of Low. This is the first Miners album I've heard and I will be seeking out their other ones! Don't miss out. This is a great contender for the best of 2005!!!
This album will not disappoint.......2005-01-19
Amazingly beautiful from start to finish, Early Day Miner's latest release might just be their best yet. Beautiful melodies, deep layering, and a general sense of spookiness create a mesmerizing sound that won't release you until the end of the album. The first song, "Errance", is worth buying this album for in itself.
While it's certainly early in the year, I have a suspicion this will be looked upon as one of the better "Indie" releases of 2005.
