Amazing........2004-07-01
1. 'Leaving' - This song appears on the LP as well, but this is a more rawer feel to it. A very good song, and catchy. Kenny has such a good voice.
2. 'Saddest Girl Song' - Just like leaving, it makes a cameo in the the full length effort, which i recommend as well. And just like 'Leaving', this song is much more rawer then on the LP, nevertheless, just as catchy.
3. 'Three's A Charm' - The first single. Just like the rest of the album, this song maintains the catchyness needed.
4. 'Greg's Last Day' - This is my favorite track and one of my favorites of all time by tsl. Its about a friend leaving. I can relate to this more then anybody because i am an expatriat kid growning up in a different country, and every year, loads of my friends leave. The song is brillant the lyrics are amazing. It will leave you singing, 'Greg's last day is our last chance to be bestfriends. Untill you say, goodbye'.
5. 'Nothing Gonna Stop Us' - Having doing an amazing cover of the J.Lo track on the 'Punk Goes.. Pop' series, Starting Line cover yet another pop song. A very good cover indeed.
Overall, a very good debut, and im sure there loads more to come from these guys. They already have 1 full length out, an acoustic EP, and have another full length in the works. Watch out for these guys, they are going places.

"With Hopes Of Staring Over," is the debut release from The Starting Line. This solidified the fact that they were going to be somebody's in the future. A must have for any pop-punk fan.

no words can describe how excellent this album is........2003-12-18
okay song by song synopsis:
leaving: good song, the aforementioned singer has a stellar voice. nice and catchy, good riffs, this version is quicker and less polished than the one on the full length, say it like you mean it. best lyric: 'as weekdays and weekdays unwind, i'll be found staring back in time.'
saddest girl story: again, sweet sweet song, good solo (better one on full length though) and pretty lyrics. again this is quicker than the full length version but it only makes you love it more. best lyric: 'heart torn out, down for the count and still come back for more.'
three's a charm: such a heart rending song, i love the lyrics. this is just another showcase of their talent and the intro somehow reminded me of the one to nirvana's come as you are, somehow. best lyric: 'getting over a three leaf clover that i thought was four, it's just the same as before.'
greg's last day: short song, though quite excellent almost subconsciously seems like filler to keep you going until the end. cute idea for a song and it does have quite a good tune. best lyric: 'it's been three weeks and just gets worse.'
