Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars IMHO Their Best Album.......2006-10-24

I was on a remote assignment in Alaska (taking care of F-15 fighters on the Yukon River) and a friend on mine and I were discussing great albums that the other might have missed. This was one of his favorites so I wrote it down as hot on my list to get (Tom had outstanding taste). Didn't have to wait to get home, his wife burned a copy and sent it. Great instrumentals. Don't believe me, listen to the teasers :0)

5 out of 5 stars There's No Rub!.......2005-10-11

This is the first Wishbone album to feature Laurie Wisefield from the band Home on guitar replacing Ted Turner. This is also the first line up change from the classic period that gave us the Argus years. There's the Rub is a combination of the classic Wishbone sound and their self perceived "Live Rock Blues Band" approach that they tried on Wishbone 4. It is a bit of a hybrid to straddle both sounds and is far more successful in this than Wishbone 4. Some of the classic sounding tunes include Persephone for example and the rockers are Hometown, Silver Shoes. Excellent production and a very clean drum sound. Here Steve Upton showcases his new "in the pocket" style for the first time. It is clean and strong (killer snare drume sound!) but I still prefer his Keith Moon style that he used on the earlier albums. Wisefield adds a smooth voice and very tasty guitar to accompany Andy Powell. This is one of their best post Argus albums and their inspiration is obvious. Bone On!
