Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Let's Dance... To The Hentchmen!.......2005-08-06

While not given the press they truly deserve, The Hentchmen have crafted their own solid style of rock and roll, which has the potential to be enjoyed by anyone who loves to hear catchy, simple, well-written songs. The Hentchmen bust out with an album-full of absolutely fun tracks, all of which are loud and fast paced. Even though "Three Times Infinity" sounds consistent with other Hentchmen albums, this record is one of, if not their best; the songs are irresistably catchy and lively.
"Three Times Infinity" opens up with a speedy garage-rock tour-de-force, "Straight Up" and keeps up the intensity through the rest of the album. The Hentchmen continue to sing about girls and cars for the next 11 tracks in a most entertaining fashion, complete with plenty of organ fills and 50's style "doo-wah" choruses.
Notable Songs on "Three Times Infinity" include the slice of teenage life: "Makin' Out", an energetic rendition of Devo's "Shimmy Shake", and a slightly slower, contemplative, organ-heavy piece called "April".
Having listened to several of the Hentchmen's albums and seen them live in concert, "Three Times Infinity" is a sure bet.
The minimal mix of pounding percussion, overdriven guitar, and vintage drawbar organ all blend to create the simple, yet thoroughly entertaining garage-rock sound native to Detroit. While not particularly earth-shattering, the entire album delivers. The full sound and simplistic fun of "Three Times Infinity" is definitly worth indulging for a listen!
