5 out of 5 stars MOST OVERLOOKED NYC BAND MADE GOOD..........2004-01-20

Hey, I have to be honest, but I've been into these guys since 2000, when I caught em by chance at NYC's Arlene's Grocery with my then-girlfriend from Spain, was blown away and became fast friends with them too. 'Bout time they got signed and released a full-length recording!! Since 2000, the EOs self-released 5 EPs, all gems. Many of those EPs' songs were rerecorded for this album, and the new versions are as great, if not greater than the original versions. Only "Make Up Something" I had to get used to the new arrangement, as I thought the original 2000 version was perfect.

I agree, the new songs are awesome, a nice next step in the EOs evolution. New faves: "Like A Drug", "Whatever You Want" and the stunning "Dead Star". Owen McCarthy IS a rock star, it's just the rest of the world doesn't know it yet. Ben, John + Joel are rock solid compadres in delivering Owen's tunes. Tim's production style fits the EOs very well.

I just hope this album is a new beginning for the band, as they deserve so much more than unjust obscurity, rather than the album flopping, the label folding, and starting from scratch. This should be THE opportunity for the EOs to break out and prove their mettle to the world, with fandom growing in leaps + bounds. I hope the world realizes what I have known since discovering them by accident in 2000, and I haven't looked back since!!

The Everyothers ROCK!!! Bowie meets the Strokes?? Decent comparison, but I'd rather say Bowie meets Cheap Trick by way of Iggy + the Stooges!! Glam/powerpop/raw punky rock + roll raunch...the EOs rule!!

Peace...Powerpoplarry (they know who I am...)

5 out of 5 stars ALBUM OF THE YEAR.......2003-12-02

The Everyothers self-titled album is a combination of what rock is supposed to be and what pop rock wishes it was, add a little David Bowie into Supergrass and you have THE EVERYOTHERS. Like A Drug -rocks. Make Up Something - hit. Ticket Home - brilliant. Dead star - and the award for best new song goes to.....
