I find this album deeply moving. It travels some very obviously personal territory, which is one reason I believe it turned out to be such a stunning work. Some things can't be faked, and the result of willing vulnerability is a real gem of an album. These songs speak to the emotional being at the core of each of us, and conjure reflections of life, love, dreams and darkness.

The music is very well done, with some wonderful rhythm and melody. It's catchy without losing its sense of sobriety. The songs are embellished by some haunting atmospheric sounds, which I assume to be Noah Landis's doing. This is not some off-the-cuff collection of Neurosis B-sides; it stands on its own. Both blood and time were clearly spent.
