Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Ohh how wonderfull.......2005-01-07

Just a short notice about that last CD of Ben Christophers. WOW.
I was expecting a so so effort from the reviews I read.
To me this is his best effort. Back here in Quebec North America
hardly no one knows of Ben C. this is ashame. The answer lies in the corporate sound of music. His effort is quite non-commercial
at least non-radio friendly here. No hit blast here but a long journey in a man's kindness. thank you Ben.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty but unbalanced..........2004-08-27

Ben Christophers will remind you of quite many singers and groups as his voice and music seems to draw influences from many sources. Closer to a more upbeat Thom Yorke than anything else, he's put together an album that has some undeniably gorgeous moments in it but it lacks in balance as some of the songs are off the mark.

I havent heard any of his previous works -this is his 3rd album- to comment on any development or change of attitude but this is music that can adequately accompany your nights, great for car drives and ideal for autumn. Oops. I know i said "a more upbeat Thom Yorke" but that would be only slightly so because most of the songs have a distinctive melancholy about them.

The music is ethereal and very much floating and taking a rather back seat to the vocals. This is then a typical songwriter album, borderline acoustic even if in bits here and there you'll hear the odd but subtle electronic effects.

  6. Underfed ~ Plush
  7. Down in the Park: The Alternative Anthology ~ Gary Numan
  8. Andy Nogger ~ Kraan
