A Review of the Reviews.......2007-04-01

It was impossible for me to find decent information about this 'tribute' on the Internet or sellers' websites. Now, thanks to these posted reviews, I can see why. A tribute to Annie Lennox is an excellent idea. I love Annie Lennox. I love cover songs. (I love Annie Lennox's cover songs!) It is hard to imagine another artist singing better than Annie, admittedly, but hey, there are plenty of great songs to choose from, and room for lots of different styles... I guess I was slightly skeptical about who dared to approach the daunting task, otherwise why did I keep looking.
I was grateful when I read, Zezinho, "Run from it." or, "AVOID THIS CD LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!" From R. M. Maynard and "It's a mess."
When I read, "whoever is singing (I think it's Miss Piggy) is shameless about imitating Ms. Lennox..." and "At best interesting," "Karaoke Anyone?" I laughed out loud but then I could afford to since I didn't waste my money on this CD. Thanks, writers.

Weak Vocals are Just the Beginning.......2007-03-16

I had originally thought this was a compilation CD of various, accomplished artists performing their own, competant renderings of these amazing songs... I eagerly navigated to Amazon with baited breath, hoping to hear.. well.. anything but the travesty that I just heard. I apologize to the people who put this out, but I'm sorry- this was -attrocious.-

As an independant artist and singer, I know how hard critics can be and how rough it is to get your work out there, but upon listening this was a -true- disappointment. The vocals are weak, waivering, hollow, ill-supported and consistently off-tune. The instrumentation attempts similarity to the original productions, but it too is naught but a paaaale imitation of something much, MUCH greater. This being published and put out there for purchase does Annie an injustice, and frankly I'm appalled this is being sold on the open market. If you're a fan of Annie Lennox, the Eurythmics, or just admire good vocals, AVOID THIS CD LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

This CD is a shame, whoever is singing (I think it's Miss Piggy) is shameless about imitating Ms. Lennox, needless to say that it is just impossible. Please don't waste your money on this....

The great songs are all here. Devoid of their original soulful, lush rendenrings. This cd is a trap. Run from it. Mine has not even got any shelf life. It now sits getting a tan in some open air city trash deposit, being suspiciously looked at by vultures themselves.
