Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars The music and compilation were not as good as the review . . . .......2007-03-10

from a major men's magazine.

I love the quirky, offbeat blues/Zydeco/Southern rock/swamp music which is prevalent along the Gulf coast, but this was a disappointment, considering the glowing review which my husband and I had read prior to buying it.

But, as with all our music, we'll shelve it for about a year and then revisit when we've been drinking heavily with friends -- and see if that makes it more palatable.

Perhaps we'll re-review then.

5 out of 5 stars you can't just sit there!.......2006-04-16

you can't just sit there when you hear the 40s, whether live or on CD. you'll need to get up, drink somebody else's beer, jump around like a fool, and yell lyrics back with a face-splitting grin on your mug. you'll need to start investing in tomorrow's hangover RIGHT NOW. this is a CD of clever, booze-soaked original songs littered with hooks & lyrics that will stick in your head for a good while (if you're lucky).

the 40s are impossible to categorize. picture a punk band on tour. they run their van right over a marching band and crash into the carnival across the street. the six survivors pick up instruments and get on stage.

this is funky, rocky, jazzy, bluesy goodtime stuff. it could only come from new orleans. it is impossible to play the 40s too loud. if you pass a chance to see the 40s live, you're a fool.

5 out of 5 stars Rythm and Booze.......2004-09-18

When you listen to The Morning 40 it isnt hard to guess what city they are from. The essence of everything New Orleans comes through in the Jazz/Funk sounds. Think of it as music for the Mardi Gras party you wished you could have gotten in to.

5 out of 5 stars Living It Up.......2004-08-18

I am feeling Morning 40 Federation because they play feel-good music. Their style of music can't be put into 1 category. When you hear them, u will want to have a good time with friends. It was genius of them to come with these unique songs because it sets them apart from other bands. Don't just get the album. U gotta catch them on tour. Peace
