Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars for all ages.......2006-02-21

Has it really been only six months since I bought this album? I've been listening to The High Strung almost non-stop since I discovered them in Aug. '05, and feel they are more than just another band. The songs pack a lot of power into a short amount of time, but as soon as one finishes, the next one starts and you're caught up in the anxious tone all over again.
The usual comparisons are influences from the 1960s like The Kinks, or The Zombies, but the band deserves more than that for a description - they are the past, present, and future of rock'n'roll all combined. Buy this album, and their new one, Moxie Bravo, and by all means see them live.

5 out of 5 stars Short Bus to the Hall of Fame.......2005-06-28

About two years ago, on the night before I was to start a new job, I stopped by my favorite bar, The Nick. I just wanted to sit and have a brew with my favorite bartender, Wendy Gunn and check out whoever was playing that night. It was a Sunday night, the slowest night of the week. And sitting at the bar was the band, The High Strung, and no one else. But you know what? It didn't matter. It didn't matter that no one came because they played their hearts out, to me, to Wendy Gunn, to the Soundman, to Robbie the Door guy, and they had the time of their lives.
This is what their album is like. Song after song of energy and excitement just for you. Quirky, poppy, rough, fun...
definitely. Garage? A bit. Innovative, driving, wonderful.

Speaking of driving...last year they left their short bus tour bus sitting on the steps of the Rock n Roll hall of Fame. Full of letters and photos and random objects picked up as they toured the country from coast to coast. The songs on this album reflect this sort of adventurous, mischievious spirit. They fill me with nostalgia and also with anticipation for what's to come.

5 out of 5 stars patience..........2004-04-09

It's the strangest thing. These guys are below the radar...yet have been written up in giant magazines...everyone that has their record thinks it's great...yet only so many people have it. What shall I do to help get these guys in everybody's mind? I can tell you one thing...this record rocks beyond rock.

5 out of 5 stars Am I Missing Something?.......2004-02-03

Am I missing something? Is there a reason why these guys aren't on everybody's CD shelf in the country? Listen...this record may be perfect. No joke.
