Customer Reviews:
AMAZING!.......2006-01-20
I saw Jackie Greene last night for the first time. He opened for Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and as is the usual, the crowd was thin before he came on stage with the band. Halfway through his first song, though, people were out of their seats and on the floor dancing and supporting this guy. After the third song, I was at the merch table buying his cd. It's unusual in this town to get the crowd engaged as an opening act. I've seen it happen with KNOWN artists and it's got to be unnerving. Jackie is a rare talent that, yes, like Dylan, has a true feel for the style but, unlike Dylan, can carry a tune that you want to learn the lyrics to so you can sing along. Amazing, yes, and hopefully, we'll hear more of him in St. Louis!
Jackie Greene.......2005-07-13
This kid is amazing, no other way to put it. The reviewer Dane Henas is simply without knowledge to say he is the worst performer. This review just shows how many people are lacking intellegence.
Jackie Greene's Got It.......2005-06-04
We first saw Jackie Greene at the Blues Festival in San Francisco about 3 years ago. He blew our socks off! We saw him again in Seattle 2 years ago when he opened for B.B. King. Unfortunately, BB just sat in his chair, mostly talking, sometimes singing, but seldom playing "Lucille" so I would have to say that Jackie took the show. The crowd really loved him! We just found out he is playing in Seattle again next month and have already bought our tickets...need I say more about how we feel about this young man's music?
jackie is the real deal.......2005-04-12
I was first turned on to Jackie Greene when I saw him live in Monterey last fall . . . I was excited to hear a young kid who had the ability to activated the senses so well . . . he has this old sould in a young body thing goin on, writes great songs, he just opened here in NYC for Madelline Peyroux and blew the socks off the audience at Town Hall.
it's unfortunate what one reviewer wites below but I understand it: it is not Jackie's fault that some press folks have compared him to living and past legends. Jackie Greene is Jackie Greene, he is not out there copying anyone else... i think we'll hav the very good fortune of watching a person grow and develop over a long songwriting/performing career...
I for one am excited for that ride. Jackie Greene is the real deal!
