Customer Reviews:
Buy if you like Rock N Roll.......2003-10-30
This album is staple at my house! From the get-go, this is a fairly fast moving rock album. Great Crazy Horse-is anthems, super hooky tunes and nice fresh look at Pop-Americana. Buy this if you like Neil Young, Wilco, Black Crowes or even CCR. I don't know what that other reviewer listend to, but this band is great.
ugh.......2003-05-13
A friend whom I played this disc for quickly dubbed it "A.C. Caca." Can't say much more than that. Save your money and your time.
fine musicianship, weak songwriting.......2003-04-23
Nice production and solid musicianship are the good points of this record. On the downside, Alan Charing seems content to recycle the same, vaguely bluesy (non)melody on each and every song. At a glance, the lyrics may seem compelling, but look a little closer and one finds macho hipster posturing with no substance to prop up the disjointed ramblings. I really wanted to like this record. Honest! Oh well...
"takes you back performances from a highly talented band".......2002-05-31
Shades of Black Crowes, Bottle Rockets and Counting Crows lend influences to the style and sounds of Alan Charing (singer/songwriter), Todd Corbett (bassist), Brett Davis
(guitarist), Sean Oldham (drummer), but "a.c. cotton" has their own sound that creeps half way down and then grabs you.
On designated tracks Luther Russell (piano/organ/tambourine/guitar), Joe Chiusano (vocal backup) and Fernando Viciconte (vocal backup) ~ takes you into the world of creative lyrics much like Dylan, streaks of the Stones surface.
Even though they are categorized in the genre of Rock, feel they have flavors of Country-Rock, on the door-step Blues, down-right Solid Rock and lyrics that give you insights of what life is all about from top to bottom.
Stand back folks, here are the stand outs ~ "RUSTY CHAIN", says it all in depth ~"ALRIGHT FOR AUDREY", returns you with both feet on the ground ~ "NEW INDEPENDENCE MORNING", wake up and enjoy.
Hats off to all who were involved with this album, especially Alan Charing and Luther Russell(producer/composer) who made each track something special with tender loving care, gotta love it!

Rockin' on 'til the bleary dawn..........2001-10-17
This is the kind of record that you pop in the tape deck at the beginning of a road trip; light up a Lucky, and put the hammer down. It gets you amped-up enough that you don't need those little white pills to keep you awake. It makes you want to do 90mph across Idaho in the middle of the night. It expresses the heartbreak and the joy of never getting to where you're headed. If you've just broken-up with your girlfriend, "Rusty Chain" will bring tears to your eyes, then "Alright for Audrey" will bring you back to life.
