Album Description

Hard core old school punk, sometimes called "SPUNK" rock. Spunk were the real deal, but time, space, location, industry indifference and everything else caused them to remain in obscurity throughout their 10 year career.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Seminal Work.......2003-12-19

The potency of Spunk is what immediately strikes you. It's usually a sticky situation when four young men attempt to penetrate the music industry and stay up on their game long enough to make their fans deeply satisfied. It's hard, it's really really hard. Inspiration usually comes hard and fast the first time 'round. One's ideas are so fertile. But after that initial burst, it takes a bit more time and effort to arouse oneself to push through that famous Sophomore Slump. Inspiration flags and imagination goes flaccid. At that point, one's ego needs a lot of stroking to maintain a sense of rectitude. One tends to feel licked...and that really sucks. But with persistence, one can usually make a stand and dive back in again. That's what Spunk has done here. This time, they demonstrate real staying power. They sustain their musical inventiveness much longer than before. The whole thing climaxes in a particularly forceful number, in which Spunk drives home their point with such frenzied ecstasy that their fans are left gasping in amazement. Their ideas are seminal and their playing is so much more fluid on this album. These guys really are the creme de la creme...
